Scheveningen's original promenade pier was built around 1900 and was destroyed during the Second World War. Its concrete successor opened in 1961 and became a familiar landmark on the Dutch coast. Following a period of closure, the Pier reopened in 2015 and now combines its historic seaside identity with modern attractions and hospitality.
